“Absolute perfection is here and now, not in some future, near or far.
The secret is in action - here and now.
It is your behavior that blinds you to yourself.
Disregard whatever you think yourself to be and act as if you were absolutely perfect
- whatever your idea of perfection may be. All you need is courage.”
Nisargadatta Maharaj, mystic
Right now, exactly right now, stop and let your attention open to the awareness of your experience.
Let your attention move freely without choosing what you are aware of, what happens to you in the body, what thoughts come to you, if there are emotions; let go of the internal pressure to define what happens to you, to give names, to associate concepts, to box: this is this, this is that, this is something else and so on, let awareness be open to what's there, BEFORE defining it. Notice what happens in the body while a little at a time you let every tension melt, let it fall down to the floor, let go of your shoulders, let go of your buttocks and belly, let go of your forehead and jaws, let go of your eyes and do not look, "see"... seeing is receptive, the eyes are open without focusing anything, like two windows they receive the view, everything there is without excluding anything, without avoiding, without even attaching a name, a label, to what you see. Let go of every label, stop cataloguing your experience as it happens, imagine you've forgotten the names you normally give to things, events, what happens. Experience is an A PRIORI compared to the definition we give. The experience takes place and THEN we catalog it. The label, the name we affix to what we hear, see, touch, taste, smell, perceive, think, imagine, comes AFTER the experience itself and, in some way, limits it and locks it in words that are basically based on descriptions of the reality of the past.
Try to feel what happens in your body if you let go of familiar descriptions, when feeling what you feel is not immediately imprisoned in the words that define it.
Feel how the world seems to expand, lose consistency and definition and, at the same time, how everything becomes more alive and vivid, bright and brilliant... no names! Nothing that locks up what's here right now. Inside and out, they disappear along with the concepts that make them look real. The hand that writes is not HAND, it is absolutely what it is and works how it works, feels how it feels, is free to be and freed from having to be...
The whole universe exists, and us with it, regardless of the names we give, the labels with which we try to assert our dominion over the Real.
You're already complete.
The cosmos is already complete.
This moment is already complete.
